In February, Miami University’s John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship and Department of Entrepreneurship won the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s 2024 Model Program Award. The Model Program Award is awarded annually to the top entrepreneurship program in the nation and recognizes a university entrepreneurship program that provides “comprehensive, bold, high quality educational programs that train future generations of entrepreneurs.”

Earlier this spring, Brett Smith, Allan Discua Cruz, and Miruna Radu-Lefebvre, the editors of a forthcoming special issue in the international journal Entrepreneurship & Regional Development , led a PDW at the 20th annual Social Entrepreneurship Conference at International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.

In April, Brett Smith, founding director of the Center for L.I.F.E., led a research seminar at Emlyon Business School in France. The day included a research seminar on faith and entrepreneurship, a presentation on new research, and meetings with faculty, postdoc students, and doctoral students.
